About Jeff Lau
He's completed nine ultra marathons across the burning sands of the Sahara, the polar nights of the Arctic Circle, and the untouched jungles of the Amazon, and in 2019 he was the first Malaysian to complete the prestigious Swiss Ultra Deca Triathlon.
For Jeff Lau, however, running isn't just a competitive activity but also a way to spread goodwill through his actions. His mission on each marathon is to fundraise for the Malaysian AIDS Foundation's Pediatric AIDS Fund, turning health and tenacity into symbols of strength. In the face of subzero temperatures of –50°C, distances of up to 500 km, and with 30kg of equipment on his back, it's thanks to the mindset of "just run a little longer" that keeps him moving forward.
Today, he takes the TEDxPetalingStreet stage to reveal how, in the face of desolation and solitude, each stride can carry both the warmth of compassion and the depth of human will.
